A quick email to let you know Pearl (above) delivered a strapping black colt by Hilkens Black Delight this morning. He is just super and is really a shining light already. So, Ashtan Park becomes part of history here in Australia, breeding the first mare to have a Black Delight Colt in Australia. 

Hilkens Black Delight is a German Riding Pony renowned in the sporthorse industry.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Owendale Jamaica as a result of an accident in October 2007. Mack has been laid to rest in his favorite paddock close to his mares under an old willow tree Owendale Jamaica by Rotherwood Woodbine-by Keston Royal Occasion out of Owendale Brandy was in his 25th year and had sired some 47 ponies. 'Mack' as he was effectionally known came to the stud after being with John and Shirley Woodville of Karinya Park Stud Gippsland since he was a colt. He had enjoyed a lustrous show career and sired many show ponies. Mack was a quiet achiever and was probably more reckonised for his Welsh B breeding rather than Riding pony breeding as the majority of his off spring were predominantly of Welsh B breeding as he was bred to Welsh B mares. However since coming to the stud he has certainly turned some heads with his Riding pony offspring winning at major shows- and to name just a few-Ashadatan Park Sebastian, Ashtan Park Picturesque and Ashtan Park Crystal certainly identified that he was producing the quality required for the riding pony ring. We are thankful that Mack formed the foundations of our stud and he will be sadly missed. Before Macks passing he had had a successful tender mating for Jeanette Graham of My Haven Stud and had served 3 of our mares. What precious little bubs they will be in 2008!!!

On a happier note, It is with excitement that we announce the recent purchase of an exquisite bay colt 'Langtree Wild Vision ' , by Langtree Valentine out of Langtree Wild Flower( Fairly Temptation). We would like to thank Jan Langley for allowing us to purchase this outstanding young man of double cross to Temptation. Wild Vision was being prepared to debut into this years show season and be campaigned before he was to commence stud duties but unfortunately the outbreak of Equine Influenza put a stop to all that as we watched the shows be cancelled one after the other.

As a result Wild Vision has since gone off to the breakers and we look forward to him not only coming out in the led ring but also under saddle.

Recent addition to the brood mare band, w are also extremely privileged to announce the recent purchase of Langtree Love Affair by Fairly Temptation into our brood mare band. Love Affair has retired from a lustrous show career including Runner up Barastoc Large Pony and RPSB National Riding large Pony of the Year in 2003/2004. Langtree Dignity (by Rotherwood Acrobat) will cover Love Affair for the 2007 breeding season.

Congratualtions to Kathy Brown of NSW on her recent success with AP Sebastian- Supreme Show Hunter ASSP Nationals on the 2nd February 2007. 'Sebby' was very cabably ridden by Alexis Borg into the winners circle. Well done to both families!

Picturesque has had a successful mating to the renowned sire -Myscal Encore standing at Merrivale Park Stud.

We have had a very successful season with Our filly ' Picturesque'. She has been out to several Ag shows and placed Champion open Led and RP Led.

We are now getting ready for the Summer Royal and RP Youngstock Shows.
